Rodeo Beach is a beautiful place for an engagement session! It is also a amazing location for an elopement. The landscape is diverse, offering many different elements to capture in an accessible area. Whether you'd like to hike for your session, walk along the beach, have a picnic, or explore the rocks, there are so many different things to do! Dogs are also allowed at this beach, and they are always welcome at any of our sessions. If you bring your dog, I recommend also bringing a friend so they can watch them for part of the session!
Rodeo Beach tends to be less crowded than some of the other coastal areas in San Francisco, offering a private and beautiful backdrop to your session. It is also very close to the city and some of its hallmark landscapes, including the Marin Headlands, Golden Gate Bridge, and Point Bonita Lighthouse. There's a super cute coffee shop nearby that offers amazing views of the bridge and bay on a clear day. This beach is beautiful anytime of year, and in the winter time the hills take on a lush green color. Inherent to the San Francisco bay area, fog and wind are quite common. Bringing along neutral layers or a beach blanket can help to keep you warm during the session! Golden hour produces the softest light, making sunrise and sunset sessions my favorite times to shoot at Rodeo Beach.
Eric and Kimberly were models for a content day put on by Sand + Summit Collective, and he surprised her by proposing during the shoot! Capturing their love was such a special honor; the way that they look at each other brought tears to my eyes. They put complete trust in us to photograph their engagement session, and the photos that resulted are some of my all time favorites.
